"Brew"
We thought you might like to hear from "Brew"!! He is
doing great and he is spoiled rotten!!! He is such a good boy, we
can't help it. I'm attaching a great photo of him diving off of
our dock last summer. He's a jumper (jail breaker.) Bill's mother
has her back yard fenced in... Bill threw a frisbee too hard one
day... Blue took off, jumped the fence, and caught the frisbee on
the other side!!!
His third birthday is coming up soon and he was asking if we could
stop by by sometime to say hello?

"MADDIE"
On November 1, 2007, Maddie, a black Labrador Retriever, 2 ½
years old, made her debut as a Certified Bright & Beautiful
Therapy Dog at the Center for Discovery Clinic for people with “special”
needs. Maddie’s owner and handler, Bill Burbage is the Chief
of Public Safety at the Center for Discovery, and Maddie has been
an unofficial ambassador of goodwill at the Center since she was
3 months old. Bill and Maddie spent their day spreading good will
and cheer among staff, residents, and visitors at the Center’s
various office and school buildings. Maddie takes her job very serious
from the moment she puts on her I.D. tag and vest and Bill tells
her it’s time to “work”. Somehow, it doesn’t
seem like “work” to Maddie, she loves the att-ention
she receives and bringing smiles to the many faces on the people
we meet during our rounds, especially the children. Of course, a
treat once in awhile for encouragement doesn’t hurt either!
Maddie was a rescue puppy adopted from the Rescue for Life Labrador
Rescue Service located in Bloomingburg, New York. Maddie and her
sister Madison were rescued from a breeder in Alabama at 8 weeks
of age and Bill jokes that “Maddie barks with a southern drawl”.
Maddie seems to be a natural for therapy work in bringing happiness
and love to everyone she meets and looks forward to a long career
in doing just that.
"Hunter"
My
wife & I had been looking for a Yellow Labrador for 3 months.
Our children were now old enough and we wanted them to experience
the love that a family pet can bring into the household. After several
failed attempts to locate our pet, we received a call from Rescue
For Life: Labrador Retriever Rescue. The rescue was called
by a breeder we contacted looking for a Yellow Lab. Denise told
us that she received a female Yellow Labrador 13 week old puppy.
The family surrendered the puppy because they did not have the time
necessary to devote to the dog. My wife and I went to the rescue
the next day to see the new puppy.
It inly took one look at her soft brown eyes and pudgy face to know
the pup was going to be perfect. We went inside and spent about
an hour playing with her and observing her demeanor. As I watched
her chase the cats around the house, I envisioned the many days
ahead we would spend in the pheasant fields and duck blinds, not
to mention time cuddled up with the family infront of the fireplace.
We were told about her background, where she came from, her recent
veterinary visits, shots and so on. Everything fell into place.
After a long interview process and checked our references, we were
approved to adopt.
Now,
two years later, "Hunter" is the best Labrador Retriever
I ever owned. She is a true companion and loved by the entire family.
We've logged many days afield, we've gone on several morning runs
and we've enjoyed quiet time just cuddling. Rescue
For Life: Labrador Retriever Rescue
is doing fantastic work and I'm thankful that Denise made that call
two years ago.

"Jessie"
Just
wanted to let you know how Allie ("Jessie") made out at
our vet appointment. She is up to 48.5lbs. They said that she is
in great shape and a perfect Lab. We decided to have her vaccinated
for Lyme disease, so when we go back for her next shot we are getting
the microchip done.
Thanks
for everything.

"Logan"
Logan
is doing great! We have some things to work on but we will get there,
some how. I took him to the vet. on fri. and he was very good. The
vet said he is in good form. The little guy in the picture is my
grandson. Logan is very good with the kids . BUT he is the right
on the side of them all the time so when they have something in
their hands OH BOY you have to be fast or Logan has it.The other
day my other grandson had a cookie, Logan's nose came up and the
cookie came down. Well have to go... will write to you in a week
or two. To let you know how he is doing. Thank you for everything.

"Clover"
Denise......time
is surely flying here. Our beautiful little puppy is now almost
6 months old! Boy are we glad she became a part of our family.
She is such a smart and loving dog and brings a smile to all our
faces every day. We've installed and gone through the invisible
fence training and she absolutley loves having the yard as hers.
Apparently she thinks that we're collecting sticks and pine cones,
because she brings a bunch back to the door every day!! It's
quite funny.
She's fully house trained and has sit, stay, lay down, shake and
speak mastered. She loves showing off (especially for a treat!).
I remember you saying how they would eat all day if they could.
Man was that right on! I've enclosed a recent picture of our little
Clover. I'll shoot you some updates once spring arrives.
